In Fish City, you become a fisherman in an urban river. At the start of the performance, you’ll receive the necessary fishing gear and head to the fishing spot. Along the way, you’ll gather useful information about fishing before arriving at your destination.
So, how can you succeed at fishing? By catching as many fish as possible! In this unique fishing spot, you’ll find five types of fish: Pretty, Unique, Productive, Experienced, and Tasty. Initially, catching a lot of fish is enough.
However, as the city develops, it becomes increasingly challenging to survive as an urban fisherman. You’ll face rent fees and intense competition.
As the performance progresses, you must search for mutated fish—those that are unique yet forbidden, tasty yet rare, experienced yet beautiful. Only by finding these exceptional fish can you continue to thrive as an urban fisherman.
Fish City is a performance that invites you to reflect on urban life and gentrification while engaging in the act of fishing.
